Improvements and changes to the way we employ our people and how we manage our budgets and systems.
Digital
• Increased automation of calculations with ATO computer systems to reduce labour costs
• Minimum of one full time staff member at a F2F ATO shopfront to support customers with increased use of digital technology for individual taxation management

Human Resources
• Removal of plagiarism of selection criteria’s for job applications and document author takeover in-house. This initiative will place the right people in the right jobs and prevent others from being rewarded for another person’s work.
• More emphasis on attracting leaders into the public service rather than managers.
• Levels of classification of work to be further examined to prevent higher paid employees doing the same work as a lower paid employee
• Reduction of senior leadership numbers…ongoing initiatives.

I have seen many areas in the public service, where the government could save considerably on budget overspending.
