I am proud to work for the APS and have done so for over 25 years. The majority of officers I have worked with were professional and dedicated. My greatest concern is the continual use of Contractors and Consultants in ICT, some of which have been at DHS for over 20 years. These staff often do not want to share their knowledge and make it hard to be replaced. This is particularly true in the last 5 years as SAP products have been implemented. Managers seem reluctant to be brave and make hard decisions.
