I work for DHS Centrelink, have done so for the last 11 years. I would like to highlight the passion and resilience of the staff who are on the ground, dealing directly with customers. The processing staff and the supporting staff. We wrestle with multiple computer systems (that change daily), incredibly complex procedures and ever changing rules about anything you could name. Given the complex, stressful, pressured environment, it's amazing how much gets done with professionalism. Live a day - a week - in the shoes of a Centrelink operator to see just how hard we work. The pay and conditions received are fair compensation for the hard work we do.
