Submission:
I am concerned by the professional Australian Public Service being continually run down and degraded. Contracting out the provision of government services has been clearly shown to be more expensive, as taxpayer funds are funnelled into organisational profits, and less effective. The Efficiency Dividend needs to stop, and contract and long-term casual staff should be replaced with permanent staff who are paid well for their efforts. SES and non-SES pay rises should be brought in line.
